There are three major components of having a website:
- The website itself, which is made up of code like CSS, HTML and PHP that ends up creating your design and content. In the case of WordPress and many other websites this also involves a database.
- Where that website files are stored, which is referred to as your “host.” Its job is to store your website files and serve them to browsers that try to load your website when they go to your (drum roll…)
- Domain name, which is essentially your website’s mailing address on the internet- it’s how browsers access your website, as opposed to any other. For instance, this domain of this website is fnfweb.com.
You don’t have to register your domain name with us in order for us to build your website and/ or host on our servers, it’s just something we offer to provide comprehensive service to the clients who choose it. It essentially allows you to outsource the technical management of your website to a professional you know and trust, instead of having to deal with multiple big tech companies.
